So I copped a copy of the somewhat-new Mountain Goats LP, which was a limited release of 1000 and all were hand-painted by John Darnielle. I knew when I got my pre-order that there was going to be some serious ebay action, but not to this extent, especially this early after release. EbayNow, everyone paid 15 bucks for their copy, and they've already quadrupled that. Not only that, but my copy is way more awesome than that one (I'll upload some photos tomorrow). Now, I'm not selling my copy (just yet), but how long would you hold out for? What would be the breaking point for you? Imagine if you could pay two months rent off selling one record.

I would never sell it even though dude has like 3,000 songs, but especially since they're hand painted and limited to 1000. Let that shit marinate for like 20 years and hopefully Darnielle will become some crazy cultist hillbilly (like he isn't one already) and stage a mass suicide, you'll be living like Ducktales in the swimming money vault.
but since when is 2 months rent $93?
also, how'd you do the link like that? instead of having the whole url posted?
Also FYI the Hollertronix: Never Scared cd was going for 65 bucks last time I checked. All that Turntable Lab Money Studies shit will be worth a ton someday, casue they never repress...anything.

but since when is 2 months rent $93? Wait, rent August rent wasn't $46.50? Shit... I think there might not have been enough on that check I mailed out the other day Ed. But I think he was just saying if he waited it out and it got high enough to pay two months rent, should he still wait longer or break and sell. To sell or not is a tough call. Owning something that thousands of other people really want is a pretty excellent power high. It immediately makes one think he's worth more than he actually is. $93 isn't that lucrative for something that could be potentially be worth much more some day. Personally I wouldn't ever sell it unless I was really strapped for cash and didn't have any other options. Or maybe if it was a day like last week when I decided that, despite only having -$500 to my name, I was going to come home with a Game Cube... sometimes you gotta resort to back-up measures to get what you want.

If I were to sell it, i'd wait, though. the longer you wait, the less and less people there are that are going to sell it. Unless the price goes way up, would you sell an album you paid $93 for? (Especially one hand-painted by John Darnielle) Oh and Ed, it's "[_url=http://url here] text [_/url] (get rid of the _'s)

Yeah, I'm not planning on selling any time soon, especially since my cover is so rad. Good thing I already have all the songs off the internet so I don't have to listen to it (the songs on the LP are different from what's on the CD).
