Ok so my sister drags me along to borders today, so i go over to the music section to take a look. i walk towards it, and notice some bullshit "emerging artists" display and sitting there right next to the MIA album is Sufjan Steven's "Illinois". I don't know if you've heard anything about this album, but it was originally delayed because of "a legal issue concerning the artwork". The problem was that the album cover features Superman flying over the Chicago skyline and some DC comics dudes got pissed off or something (read about it here: www.pitchforkmedia.com/news/05-07/05.shtml ) Anyway, not only does the CD they have on display have the rare, recalled cover, but it's marked down 20%. Score. I pick up the only two copies there: One for me, and one for eBay, where it sells anywhere from $20 to $40.

Not bad, not bad at all. A few days ago it came to my attention that I have 2 of the rarest PS1 games in America as part of my collection. After checking the ol' ebay, I found that one, Tales of Destiny 2, sells for up to $90, and the other, Valkyrie Profile, can go for up to $200. Apparently the Xenogears strategy guide I got for $.01 at EB a couple years ago is worth $40. Holler. Here, just cause Images make any post better: I advise buying both if you see them on a preowned rack at a videogame store. And while we're on the subject and I'm feeling extra geeky, if you REALLY wanna be a rare game seller (or collector, whatever) then here's the holy grail: EDIT: I guess this reply really doesn't belong in Music Discussion, but oh well.
